Healthy reading, a project from Fall 2008 has been posted. The project problem was as follows:
Reading while in a fully reclined position causes strain on the user’s neck, shoulders, and back and general fatigue.
Visit the Recumbent Reading project page for full details

With the new semester just around the corner, the team is set for it’s first regroup meeting during the second week of school. For interested students, the application overview presentation is currently scheduled to occur in the third week of classes. The presentation will be made available online as a webcast for those unavailable to attend. The application submission time is one week after the presentation.

Justin, Summer Bike Project Manager:
The summer BI(ke) research team is in its sixth week of research on bicycle security. We have delved into the workings of bicycles to analyze its mechanical strengths and weaknesses as well as its user and environmental interaction.
We have also analyzed various types of locking and alarm mechanisms to better understand security systems and informatively judge the effectiveness of bicycle safety measures. We are now beginning our outreach phase in which we will be meeting up with local bike shops as well as security agencies to learn more about bicycle securities around campus.
In the future we plan to get more hands-on by trying to lock up and break into test bikes.
